The Ideal Candidate

The Senior Business Analyst (Sr. BA) is responsible for aligning Genesco's IT strategy and planning with divisional business goals. This includes updating and maintaining operating methodologies, scoping new commitments, and ensuring adherence to departmental needs and best practices.

The Sr. Business Analyst acts as a leader in resolving complex business problems, serving as a subject matter expert who guides the business, provides direction, and has authority in decision-making related to functions, projects, and teams. This role involves working with divisional management and Genesco IT resources to deliver scalable, adaptable solutions that meet the changing business needs of the division and Genesco.

How You Will Make an Impact

Methodology and Best Practices:

• Continuously update and maintain operating methodologies to ensure best practices and efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to departmental standards and best practices.

Project Scoping and Definition:

• Scope and define new projects to ensure clear objectives, deliverables, and timelines.
• Identify project stakeholders, establish customer classes, and determine project scope and vision in collaboration with project sponsors.

Business Requirements Management:

• Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate business needs of stakeholders.
• Conduct interviews, workshops, surveys, and other methods to gather customer requirements.
• Define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics on a project-by-project basis.
• Prioritize collected requirements with stakeholders and project team.
• Research and analyze existing requirements-gathering processes to develop improvement strategies.

Solution Development and Implementation:

• Develop workflows, functional designs, use case diagrams, and other documentation.
• Participate in QA/UAT to ensure features and functions are optimized.
• Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements to stakeholders.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with internal and external BAs and teams on system requirements and processes.
• Provide guidance and instruction to junior staff members.
• Interpret customer requirements and communicate feasible options to stakeholders.

Documentation and Standards:

• Develop and utilize standard templates for requirements specifications.
• Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide developers and the project team.
• Conduct peer reviews of business requirements to ensure accurate interpretation.

Business Change Management:

• Lead the preparation and review of business Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that support business processes.
• Monitor, identify, and enforce business change management requirements.

Experience and Skills You'll Need to Have

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in business administration, finance, or information systems.
• 5+ years of related work experience.
• Proven experience in business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.
• Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources.
• Working knowledge of Windows office systems.
• Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with senior management.
