Summary

This position will be responsible for the daily cash posting, daily cash reconciliations, lockbox operations, daily process of mortgage insurance (MI) remittance premiums, auto and borrower requested MI cancellations, monthly loan level reporting, task/email processing, and check refunds/reversals.



Duties & Responsibilities

    Front end payment processing including acceptance of payments from different sources and processing through our mortgage servicing platform.
  • Bank functions including wire and transfer initiation and remote check deposits.
  • Process exeptions to determine if any payments were misapplied and correcting them in a timely manner.
  • Review, prioritize, and provide timely and accurate response to tasks, email, etc.
  • Analyze information on a situation, problem, loan or borrower, and make appropriate recommendation on actions.
  • Accurate and timely processing of suspense transactions on a daily basis.
  • Prepare daily cash work for balancing.
  • Remit PMI premiums and handle cancellation of PMI.
  • Remit MIP (FHA) payments and handles cancellation of MIP.
  • Resolve exceptions on the monthly FHA Reconciliation Report.
  • Remit annual USDA premiums and handle cancellation of USDA Guaranty certificate.
  • Report monthly loan level detail to PMI companies per guidelines established
  • Maintain and document a clear audit trail on all transactions.
  • Able to research, respond, and provide information to customers (internal and external) on a wide variety of more complex mortgage loan servicing topics, payments and research on related payment topics.
  • Assist in identifying potential risks, communicate to management and take appropriate steps to avoid risk.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships by providing high quality customer service at all times to internal and external customers.
  • Promotes honest and open communication throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with TruHome's values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  • Work with other departments to insure the workflow or process is providing the best service to the members.
  • Willingness to performs other duties/projects as assigned.


Requirements

  • Knowledge of cash management and processing.
  • Knowledge with mortgage servicing
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and RESPA Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of mortgage software.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to self-initiate and work independently without close supervision.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to use word processing software.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
