The Harley-Davidson Motor Company Product Development Center (PDC) located in Wauwatosa, WI is home to the mantra - You dream it. We build it. Join our team as a Regulatory Affairs Development Lead.

Job Summary

The Lead Engineer, Product Regulatory Affairs is responsible for developing and executing processes and activities required to certify motorcycles, systems and components in all markets in which Harley-Davidson does business.. This position leads through influence across global stakeholders to understand and ensure the planning and execution of product compliance. This position will help monitor and communicate new or developing regulations which may include consumer protection or unique country regulations to Product Development and corporate stakeholders. The incumbent will monitor and communicate new or developing regulations, at times engaging with industry associations, government representatives and other external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities



  • Responsible for ongoing certification and documentation activities and may lead projects within a broader area.
  • Solve complex problems related to the certification process and in support of on-time product delivery.
  • Communicate difficult or sensitive information and build relationships with internal or external stakeholders.
  • Travel to test facilities, government offices, associated meetings or conferences and to other H-D facilities, domestically or internationally.
  • Responsible for knowing and understanding the regulations that affect Harley-Davidson products and communicating requirements to product planning.
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to streamline certification and documentation activities.
  • Exhibit prioritization and time management skills in an ambiguous environment.
  • Exhibit leadership skills consistent with the corporate values by through words and actions, and provides staff (and others) guidance and coaching.
  • Flexible hours, hybrid work



Education Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred


Experience Requirements

This role typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience in engineering and/or certification. In addition, the successful candidate will have demonstrated the following:



  • Expertise in the use of project management techniques.
  • Proven track record of improving processes and procedures.
  • Proficient with standard Office tools - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Nuance



Preferred



  • Advanced Degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Motorcycle systems
  • Experience with Computer Databases
  • International experience including working with people from other cultures where English is a second language is preferred.
