Ophthalmic Technician
Hagerstown, MD Pay From: $18 per hour MUST: 1+ Years of experience as an Ophthalmic Technician Must have experience with auto-refractions Must have experience visual fields Must have knowledge of working with EMR Experience with Glaucoma is a plus Experience with Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a plus DUTIES: The Ophthalmic Technician will be responsible for but not limited to the following: Provides pre-operative and post-operative care to patients by following standard operating procedures Measure eyeglass prescription Operate various ophthalmology diagnostic equipment Applies drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes Counsels patients by providing information regarding treatment, use of drops and drugs Ensures confidentiality by completing and safeguarding medical records Provide quality patient care, excellent communication and customer service Help generate leads towards laser vision correction surgery Creates a comfortable and welcoming environment for our patients Perform routine instrument maintenance Open to change and willing to take on additional responsibilities as needed. Strong interpersonal skills Taking patient medical history Visual acuity measurement Refractometry (measurements for the glasses prescription) Tonometry (measure eye pressure) Measure pupil size and reactivity Test and measure eye muscle function Visual field testing Measure corneal thickness, curvature, and topography Retinal nerve fiber layer measurement Retinal thickness and topography Fluorescein angiography A and B-scan ultrasonography Assist with contact lens fitting, and patient instruction Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures Surgical assisting Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
