Nurse Practitioner-Hospitalist Behavioral Health Days Full Time West Bloomfield

Exciting opportunity to join our team at our newly opened Henry Ford Behavioral Health Hospital in West Bloomfield!

• APP will work 40 hours per week, 8-hour shifts and must be available for 2 weekends per month.
• In this Family Medicine position APP works with the Psychiatry team.
• Family Medicine is responsible for providing medical care to the inpatient psyche patients.
• The Family Medicine NP or PA works under the supervision of a Family medicine staff physician.
• The job responsibilities include performing H&P, consults for any acute medical issues, management of chronic medical problems, communication with the psyche team.
• Experience working IP behavior health setting desired.
• Seeking an APP for this role that is flexible; motivated; compassionate; willing to learn; interested in working with youth and adults.
• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide inpatient medical care, with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff; e.g.: Patient history, physical examination, ordering and interpreting tests, making diagnoses and instituting treatment plans.
• Provides inpatient consultation on internal medicine conditions and may unction as a critical team member on the hospital code team. In conjunction with the supervising physician conducts admission evaluations and assessments and provides inpatient medical coverage for community physicians as necessary.
• May be required to take call. Specific procedures within the Department of Medicine are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.
