Norris is currently seeking an individual to fulfill the role of Milieu Supervisor in our Shelter Unit at our Mukwonago campus. Effective July 1, 2025, we'll be taking youth into our new shelter building on our campus. We are hiring at all levels, and this position will be instrumental in helping to build the staff for the building. Under the supervision of the Group Care Program Manager, the Milieu Supervisor (MS) oversees the day-to-day operations of Shelter Care Services at the River's Edge Campus in accordance with Norris policies, protocols, and procedures, licensing requirements, placing agency expectations and best practice standards. The MS ensures program services address youth needs according to their personalized plans (i.e., treatment, learning, etc.), helps employees implement trauma informed principles, uses and assists with learning of de-escalation techniques, and serves as an overall resource for youth, direct care employees and the leadership team. The MS also serves as a point person for communication, vehicle check-out, keeping track of who is present at the shelter and who is off-grounds, and for handling crisis by delegating responsibilities or directly handling emergent needs. The MS directly supervises the Lead Youth Care Specialist and Youth Care Specialists working primarily first or second shift. The MS has primary Leader on Duty (LOD) and medication administration responsibilities on a routine basis. The MS ensures sensitivity to the ethnic and cultural diversity of youth, families and employees while effectively communicating and promoting the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of Norris. As a 24/7 treatment program, the MS position requires the individual to work a flexible schedule in order to support the needs of residential and shelter care programs and understands that their schedule is subject to change to meet the program's evolving needs at any time, including nights, weekends and holidays. Education: Bachelor's degree required; Degree in social or behavioral science field preferred. May consider an Associate's degree with a minimum of seven years relevant work experience. Experience: Minimum of four years experience working with children involved with the child welfare and/or juvenile justice systems with demonstrated physical and mental skill and ability to intervene and manage difficult/acting out behaviors according to Norris philosophy and practice required. A minimum of two years of leadership experience required. Driver's License: Must have a valid WI driver's license. Other Benefits to consider:
