Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW
This position assists in handling day-to-day mechanical and electrical issues within the production environment, as well as troubleshooting basic PLC and programming problems. This position must act with safety and food safety guidelines in mind at all times and maintain the highest level of compliance with each.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on all machines.
  • Work from task or project lists to complete Work Orders in line with established timelines.
  • Design and build items to be contributed to processes and equipment to improve efficiencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

WHAT WE VALUE

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting as well as PLC programming
  • Effective communication skills, including active listening.
  • Ability to analyze, problem solve, and generate new ideas and be open minded to others' ideas.
  • Must be capable of project planning, execution and to manage time effectively - including attention to detail.
  • Must demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, trustworthiness, and capacity to learn.
  • Ability to collaborate openly, honestly, constructively to build solutions
  • Ability to spend substantial time on the production floor (when needed).
  • Ability to work unusual hours to support equipment startups and development trials.
  • Ability to coach and mentor less-senior members of the organization.
  • Familiar with predictive maintenance (PdM) and preventative (PM) maintenance technologies.
  • Knowledge of Rapid Problem Solving and the use of RPS to facilitate investigations.

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU

  • Associates degree in related field is preferred
  • A forklift operator certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of start. This will be trained and certified internally.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts and/or flexible hours to accommodate production demand

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires employees to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb, and even sit for extended periods of time. Frequent exposure to a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Potential contact with chemicals and cleaning supplies, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds is a requirement. Some parts of this position would require the employee to work at heights as part of some tasks.
