Summary
The Product Specialist - Knowledge Solutions at Sidley is responsible for the administration, management, and continuous improvement of technology solutions that support the practice and business of law. This role involves evaluating potential solutions, managing the configuration, implementation, and ongoing administration of assigned technologies, and collaborating with Data and AI leaders to enhance the technology portfolio. The Product Specialist also contributes to the development and execution of product roadmaps, works with cross-functional teams to complete projects, and ensures business goals are documented and communicated. Additionally, the Product Specialist defines best practices, supports training programs, and interacts with internal and external resources to address technical issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of leadership, contribute to the development of strategic business goals and overall roadmap for the portfolio technologies to address current needs, as well as to anticipate future growth and opportunities.
- Maintain several SharePoint Online hubs for key stakeholders, consisting of dozens of unique site collections, providing enhancements and stakeholder support.
- Support the product owner for assigned knowledge tools, whether vendor-managed or custom-built, ensuring usability and business value.
- Collaborate with Legal stakeholders, Knowledge Management, and Practice Management to understand knowledge needs and translate them into technical and functional requirements.
- Maintain a prioritized product backlog and partner with internal development teams and external vendors to deliver enhancements.
- Ensure interoperability with other systems (e.g., DMS, M365, intranet, search tools, matter lifecycle tools) where appropriate.
- Document product roadmaps, user stories, release notes, and support materials.
- Facilitate change management and adoption through user engagement, communications, training, and support planning.
- Develop, maintain and analyze metrics on usage, trends, etc. related to the portfolio technologies.
- Partner with IT and security to ensure compliance with firm policies, risk mitigation standards, and client expectations.
- Stay current on trends in legal technology, knowledge management, and vendor solution offerings.
Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. Target Salary Range
$99,000 - $115,000 if located in Illinois

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- A minimum of 5 years of administrative experience with the Microsoft 365 suite, including SharePoint and Teams.
- A minimum of 3 years of development experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and other related technologies.
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming as it relates to automation tools.
- Demonstrated ability to translate strategy and priorities into tangible action items and execute effectively.
- Ability to apply critical thinking skills to problem solve independent of manager oversight.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and coordinate across internal IT, security, and operations teams.
- Self-starter with a focus on user experience, operational efficiency, and long-term maintainability.
- Familiarity with legal practice workflows and the role of knowledge management in the legal industry.
- Experience managing enterprise knowledge platforms (e.g., intranet, expertise systems, portals, collaboration tools).
Preferred:
- Experience in a law firm or other professional services organization.
- Familiarity with legal-focused digital tools such as NetDocuments, Kira or similar platforms.
- Understanding of taxonomy, metadata management, and enterprise search optimization.
- Experience working in agile or hybrid project management environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex technology projects with competing deadlines and priorities.
