Description MaineHealth Neurosurgery & Spine is seeking a part-time Physiatrist or an Osteopathic-trained physician (DO) proficient in Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) for their well-established outpatient multispecialty Spine Center in Scarborough. The ideal candidate enhances our comprehensive model of care by offering Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) as an adjunctive treatment to non-surgical spinal conditions. Prior experience with evaluation and management of patients with spine conditions is required. Call is taken from home and amounts to approximately three weeks per year. The selected candidate will join 11 physiatrists, 12 surgeons, 3 anesthesiologists, and 3 physical therapists. About the position: * Leading spine and neurosurgical practice in the state of Maine. * Clinical work includes consultations and ongoing management of spine conditions and musculoskeletal disorders as well as adjunctive OMT when clinically appropriate. * Work alongside physiatrists, neurosurgeons, orthopedic spine surgeons, and anesthesiologists. * Built in 2019, the 100,000ft2 medical building has on-site access to EMG, X-ray, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and MRI as well as two fluoro suites. Access colleagues in Neurosurgery, Physiatry, Neurology, Vascular surgery, and ENT- all in the same building. * Work with other Spine centers across the MaineHealth network * Competitive compensation and Paid Time Off. * Maintain work/life balance with flexible time off in a supportive and collegial atmosphere. Desired Qualifications & Experience: * MD/DO from an accredited medical school * Prior expertise and proficiency in OMT for spinal conditions * Prior experience with diagnosis and management of a variety of spine and musculoskeletal conditions * Board Certified/Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (if applicable) MaineHealth is a not-for-profit integrated health system whose vision is, "Working together so our communities are the healthiest in America."
