The Role -

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Designer to work out of its state-of-the-art facility in Sidney, NY.

The successful candidate will design new or provide sustaining support for existing electrical connectors.

The key responsibilities of the Designer include, but are not limited to:



  • Prepares designs and specifications, assists in generation of layouts.
  • Prepares drawings and process design changes as required.
  • Perform investigations into manufacturing and/or quality problems.
  • Helps improve customer delivery and lead time through efficient completion of drawings, specs.
  • Interfaces with other departments for the manufacturing and testing of samples.
  • Interfaces with customers and vendors to assure conformance to customer specifications.
  • Reviews customer documents for manufacturing feasibility and compliance and if necessary, prepares new designs to conform to these documents.
  • Prepares and coordinates design change approval requests for items under configuration control.
  • Collaborates with and supports the entire Amphenol Aerospace Operations design team.
  • Keeps supervision informed of status of all activities on a periodic basis.
  • Creation, tracking, and completion of product design change notices.


Salary: $45,000 - $70,000

Location -



  • Sidney, NY

    • 30 Minute Drive from Binghamton, NY
    • 20 Minute Drive from Oneonta, NY




The Person -

The key skills and qualities of a Designer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:



  • A.A.S. degree in appropriate discipline or equivalent education/work experience
  • Performs the duties required to design new or modify existing connectors to satisfy the requirements of the customer through communications with marketing, operations, quality, process, purchasing, and experimental personnel.
  • Ability to work from written and oral instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Candidate must be self-motivated and possess a good worth ethic.
  • Ability to make design layouts and production drawings for production and customers.
  • Ability to assure form, fit, and function of components through dimensional studies, correlating engineering data to customer specifications.
  • Ability to develop or possesses a sound working knowledge of PTC Creo & Windchill (other related CAD experience will be considered).
  • Sitting, typing, and other computer work along with standing/walking as required for supporting product manufacturing or testing.
  • Domestic and internal travel as required.
