Summary:
The Improvement Nurse Coach is responsible for enhancing patient care quality and outcomes by implementing evidence-based practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement on the inpatient units. This role involves coaching/education nursing staff, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and utilizing data to identify areas for improvement.
Responsibilities:
Coaching and Mentoring:
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff in implementing best practices and improving patient care processes.
- Work with quality liaison and facilitate training sessions quality improvement initiatives.
- Mentoring new hired employee's.
Quality Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for quality improvement within the nursing practice and patient care processes.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to develop and implement strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
Data Analysis:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to patient care quality and outcomes.
- Use data to identify trends, track progress, and inform decision-making.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration:
- Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to promote a team-based approach to patient care.
Patient Safety:
- Advocate for patient safety and quality care standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of protocols to reduce errors and improve patient safety.
Policy Development:
- Contribute to the development and revision of nursing policies and procedures to align with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements related to patient care.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with nursing trends, evidence-based practices, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Pursue ongoing education and professional development opportunities in nursing and quality improvement.
Other Information
Other information:
Education:
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience in an acute care setting.
- Previous experience in quality improvement, education, or leadership roles is preferred.
