Principal Missile Defense System Requirements Engineer (SED)
Contingent upon prime contractor approval
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Principal Missile Defense System Requirements Engineer in Huntsville, AL. In this position you will fill a senior role in MDA's System Design and Specification directorate and will support the implementation and execution of a disciplined systems engineering process to produce System-level technical documents necessary to establish the basis for MDA Program Office subsystem engineering.
Job Description:
- Provide support to the development, management, and planning for current and future missile defense capabilities
- Provide senior-level support to the definition, management, and execution of requirements traceability; allocation of MDA Technical Core Standards adherence planning
- Provide leadership of the MDA Engineering Requirements Group
- Foster collaborative engineering technical interchanges across the MDA engineering community for requirements development

Qualifications
- Must have a Master's degree in a STEM field with a minimum 12+ years of experience.
- Must have a technical expertise supporting government and contracting staff in systems and digital engineering
- Must have experience in MBSE tools (CAMEO), principles, and methodologies for development, requirements, design, and analysis of architectures in complex DoD projects
- Must have experience in the development, management, and planning for current and future capabilities as they relates to missile defense, specifically related to the functional portion of the system
- Must have experience in reviewing, analyzing, and providing recommendations on the development, addition, variances, and changes to functional requirements as well as providing quality checks on technical documentation and products
- Must have senior-level experience in document development, presentations, change requests, and other engineering products
- Must have experience with interacting and supporting high level government customers (Senior NH-4 director-level and above)
- Must have an understanding of Industry/DoD engineering best practices, complemented with mature communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- INCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification, preferred.
- Previous MDA experience, preferred.
- Knowledge of MDA systems engineering processes, preferred.
- Knowledge of ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missile defense fundamentals, preferred.
Security Requirements:
- Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 10%
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in an office environment
- Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
