Responsibilities

The Operations Engineer will assist the government with developing operations procedures for a new generation simulation environment intended to test a variety of new and existing platforms. This individual will participate in the development of simulation scenarios and verify scenario functionality across all simulation areas, but especially within the Radio Frequency (RF), Infrared (IR), or communication/datalink domains.

An Operations Engineer will:
* Possesses an understanding and knowledge of RADAR, IR sensors, and/or modern airborne communication/data link systems
* Use customer documentation to participate in the development of simulation scenarios using Next Generation Threat System (NGTS), Digital Integrated Air Defense (DIADS), and other components used in the simulation environment
* Understand the drivers of signatures within their domain and can ensure scenarios accurately represent the desired platforms
* Participate in the development of simulation equipment startup and shutdown procedures
* Operate the simulation equipment during simulation event execution
* Assist with the execution of system Verification and Validation plans
* Participate in the development of final data product formats and deliverables for simulation environment customers


Qualifications

This individual will be a team player and have a passion for flight test. This position requires flexibility and the ability to adapt to responsibilities that may change and evolve, as to support the customers' requirements and needs. This position requires professionalism and the ability to interact with all levels. This individual will be required to work both in a team environment as well as independently. This individual will possess and use excellent written and oral communication skills as well as persuasion skills to advocate for various stakeholder needs.

Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of experience with aircraft flight test.

Education Requirements:
BS in Engineering. (Aerospace, Mechanical or a related field)

MS in engineering/science related field preferred.

Clearance Requirements:
Candidates must possess the ability to qualify for and maintain an active TS/SCI clearance. Candidates without a clearance may be considered. Active Top Secret clearance preferred, with the ability to attain SCI and appropriate program access is required.

U.S. Citizenship required.

The pay range for this position in California is $102,000/year to $150,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
