I. Major Responsibilities:

1. Monitors par level resupply systems for appropriateness, adjusting as necessary with input and approval from manager. Meets with all managers on a monthly basis to review unit-based par stocks and adjusts as necessary.
2. Receives monthly supply usage report and assists managers in identifying trends and reasons for variances.
3. Conducts physical inventory of supply locations. Orders supplies and maintains nonclerical inventory for clinical areas. Receives and documents incoming supply orders. Puts away supplies neatly, safely, accurately, and efficiently. Distributes special orders to managers as requested.
4. Restocks personal protection cabinets.
5. Communicates and cooperates with managers and materials management staff to maintain par supply levels as needed.
6. Identifies and reports all supply problems to supervisor.
7. Makes rounds on units on a regular basis. Conducts inventory of equipment as necessary. Documents/logs inventory and maintains accurate counts for the units. Labels broken equipment and arranges for repair. Assures return of equipment in reasonable time frame. Checks all electrical equipment for safety and biomedical outdating following up as necessary. Cleans and maintains equipment as necessary.
8. Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
9. Attends variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed.
10. Demonstrates use of quality improvement in daily operations.
11. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements.
12. Respects diverse views and approaches, and contributes in maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors.
13. Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.

All responsibilities are essential job functions.

II. Position Qualifications:

High school graduate or equivalent plus specialized training. Knowledge of equipment and supplies related to patient care. Ability to work independently.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Department-specific competencies, including age-specific competencies and their measurements, will be developed and maintained in the individual departments.The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description.Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents.

III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:

Work is considered sedentary. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment.
