Sr Analyst - LIMS Job

JOB DIMENSIONS
Position provides leadership, support for all administrative functions involving the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) across multiple 25 sites in AMAS.
Position independently handles system configuration, troubleshooting issues, user access, reporting, authoring SOP's, and ensuring cGMP compliance in the LIMS business process.
Alignment with regional strategic guidance and assesses opportunities to align globally.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Application Enhancements

  • Performs primary and second level enhancement activities, including fixing bugs and bombs, routine maintenance, ongoing business modifications, and small requests for system developments. Participates in implementation rollouts and enhancement projects. Independently answers user questions and resolves complex issues independently.
  • Review the needs of the business to identify innovated solutions or key enhancement opportunities.
  • Participate is regional and global solution delivery including workshops, requirements gathering, build, training implementation, and support.
  • Assist in deployment activities including user-readiness, system monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Contributes to business process design and re-design.
  • Support applications in the areas of problem analysis, solution and prevention, programming, configuration, testing and documentation, and data integration.
  • Perform maintenance activities including updating, enhancing, and/or streamlining the technical functions of the system, including data or system cleanup, program tuning or standardizing processes.
  • Participates in application lifecycle upgrade projects.
  • System developments includes defining requirements for system modification via user interviews, and research, writing specifications to meet requirements by matching functionality with business needs, technical design, configuration, testing, and documentation.
  • Support other quality software
  • Coordinate with SAP Quality Management (QM) Lead to resolve SAP QM/LIMS issues
  • Work with SQC Pack from PQ Systems
  • Support integration of manufacturing systems and LIMS.

Administrator - LIMS

  • Lead/Coordinate installation and upgrades LIMS (SampleManager from ThermoFisher) using the LIMS consultants, Infrastructure team and DB team
  • Lead/Coordinate configuration of LIMS
  • Lead/Coordinate enhancement requests with LIMS consultants
  • Lead/Coordinate Instrument Interfacing requests with LIMS consultants and Firewall team
  • Works with the Infrastructure to create user roles/access using standard Windows security / groups.
  • Works with multiple relational database ( SQL Server) during upgrades and data integrity issues.
  • Works with management to collaborate with other iTeam technical teams for activities such as identification and selection of technical alternatives, security design, and external data processes. May also work with third party vendors.
  • Utilizes vendor documentation, Arkema documentation, vendor help services, and internal and external resources to learn and understand system capabilities.
  • Works independently on some assignments and under direction on larger, more complex programs or application developments.
  • Works directly with users to define needs for minor system enhancements and with a project lead or manager for enhancements with significant business requirements and/or integrated business process definition and designs.
  • Position will participate in detail requirements gathering, analysis of systems issues and definition of alternatives.
  • Position is required to share business, technical, and professional knowledge and facilitate teamwork with customers and peers.
  • Position assists in evaluating technologies and functionalities.

Project Lifecycle Activities

  • Quality Business Process Owner

  • Coordinate with plant / BU resources to delivery projects and enhancements

Implementation

  • Detailed Specification (Waterfall):
  • Detailed requirements
  • Detailed gap analysis (for software package or SaaS solution)
  • Provide mock- ups of Interface/ API detailed specification
  • Data model detailed specification
  • Technical-functional configuration
  • Test cases & campaign specification
  • Run Functional Acceptance Tests campaigns
  • User/ Administration manual writing

Application Support

  • Incident management
  • Performs application support activities, including root cause analysis, issue resolution, solution and prevention, bug fixes, routine maintenance, ongoing business modifications, testing, and documentation.
  • Position ensures modifications properly fix issues and meet user expectations via thorough requirements gathering, system testing, user acceptance testing and appropriate regression testing. Performs independent research, programming specs, configuration, testing and documentation
  • Resolves complex issues independently, and proactively initiates problem prevention. Consults with others engaged in complex issue resolution.
  • Position monitors system processes and manages maintenance assignments including updating, enhancing, and/or streamlining of technical functions of the system, including data or system cleanup, or standardizing processes, forms application upgrades and supports OS server upgrade activities, as part of a team, including analysis, configuration, programming specs, testing, documentation, and cutover activities.
  • Participates in application lifecycle upgrade projects.
  • Position enrolls users using standard application functionality.
  • Position also works with multiple relational databases during upgrades and data integrity issues

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
Travel dependent on project, enhancement or support activities; typically, less than 5%. International travel may be required.
Periodically will be responsible for enhancement or support activities outside of normal working hours.
Supports the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years' experience in various technical aspects of business systems and applications.
  • Experience in Lab Information Management applications is preferred
  • Experience in project management, is preferred.
