Aerospace Embedded Software Engineer (Contract)

An Embedded Software Engineer job in East Greenwich, RI is currently available at Belcan. This is a full-time 6-month contract position. To be considered, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science or a similar discipline. In this job, you will support software development and verification and validation of battery control systems. This position is on-site in East Greenwich, RI with option for occasional remote work.

Job Duties:
*Software development to the DO-178C standard (DAL A)
*Prototype code development for hardware validation
*Formal code development of software components
*Generate software design documents and low-level software requirements
*Validate software via unit testing
*Verify requirements via cases and procedures

Qualifications:
*BS or higher in software engineering or electrical engineering (or equivalent).
*10 years of experience as an Embedded Software Engineer.
*Software development experience per DO-178C for at least 2 years.
*Proficiency with C programming language.
*Ability to create software design documents and low-level software requirements.
*Ability to read and produce Requirements-Based Tests.
*Familiarity with Terminal emulator programs (ex. TeraTerm).
*Familiarity with using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, and oscilloscopes.

Desired Skills:
*Experience with electrical energy storage systems.
*Experience with I2C communications, MIL-STD-1553 communications protocol.
*Experience with Git.
*Experience with Keil uVision.
*Experience with Axivion static code analysis tool.
*Ability to read electrical schematics.

Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering an hourly rate of $48.00-$67.00.
