Position summary: The Facilities/CM department is searching for a Senior Architect/Engineer (CM-SA/E) to perform duties in Nashville, TN. The candidate shall have the capability to perform Constructability Reviews, Quality Assurance Monitoring, monitoring a contractor's adherence to standards in order to meet the specifications and to avoid deficiencies in the work. Other requirements include the level of work performed daily, performing weekly and monthly reviews and reports; change order proposal reviews and schedule development adherence; recommendations pertaining to the integrated master schedules (IMS), written and oral communications and coordination efforts as required.

Essential functions and responsibilities



  • The CM-SA/E shall be able to quickly understand and master the requirements of the local state and federal jurisdictions and the requirements of each in relation to this Project.
  • The CM-SA/E shall possess the knowledge of Construction Contract Documents including Front End and Technical Specifications and Drawings to readily understand and assess the requirements.
  • The CM-SA/E must have the skillset and a working knowledge of engineering services, building codes, budgeting, and scheduling to lead to the project's success.
  • The CM-SA/E must possess the skillset and competency to supervise and manage personnel of diverse skillsets.

Required Skills

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment

Required Experience

  • Registered Architect / Professional Engineering License
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited architectural program
  • 6+ years' experience in both design and construction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)


Preferred Experience



  • Construction management experience with a focus on medical facilities.
  • Knowledgeable with CPM scheduling. Experienced with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is preferred
  • Experience working with governmental agencies at the city, county and state levels
  • Knowledgeable in construction testing and inspection requirements


Working Conditions

Work is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 25% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
