Overview

Planned Systems International (PSI) is an Enterprise IT services company who focuses on designing, building, securing, and operating cutting-edge software solutions that drive mission success and operational excellence for Federal Government organizations. PSI has a need for an Electrical Engineer to support the Prototype Integration Facility (PIF) to interpret user defined or conceptual design requirements to create a prototype and adapt/integrate it into existing military automotive platforms. This is a "blank canvas" opportunity with a variety of new challenges presented for you to put your creativity, intellect, and analytic skills to maximum use. The objective is to help engineer and test ideas from military users and apply them to improve the capability of today's military. The successful candidate will have strong understanding of system level power delivery (could be from vehicles, commercial power, aircraft power) interconnect (electrical properties, PDUs, cable assemblies, wire harnesses, circuit breakers), knowledge of Communications, RF design, and ECAD/CAD experience is a plus.



Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

    Designs, develops, tests, and integrates electrical components on automotive platforms based on emerging military requirements.
  • Work and communicate as part of an integrated team of CAD designers, electrical integrators, and technicians throughout the design, build, test, and fielding process.
  • Occasional travel required (<25%).


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Electrical Engineering preferred (8 years of direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education).
  • 2 to 5 years electrical engineering design experience, with vehicle integration experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate and work in an integrated team of CAD designers, electrical integrators and technicians throughout the design, build, test and fielding process.
  • Ability to design/develop and integrate advanced electrical systems and components; including power distribution/allocation, satellite, and radio communications, Positioning/Navigation/Timing (PNT), servers, routers and wireless devices to be used in complex C5ISR systems.
  • Ability to utilize automated design tools, (CAD, ECAD, etc)
  • Ability to read and create electrical drawings.
  • Ability to perform in an independent working environment directly supporting customers.
  • Willingness to work hands on, with a strong understanding in the use of hand and power tools.


Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrates engineering intuition, critical thinking, and comfort with ambiguity.
  • Works collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams to define cross-functional interfaces.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and resolve hardware integration issues.
  • Ability to use lab equipment, such as multimeters, power meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
  • Experience with schematic design and CAD tools (PTC CREO, Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc).
  • Familiarity with military and commercial industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, etc.
  • Military experience is a plus.
