This position is located to Vandenberg Space Force Base, California

This position is not eligible for telecommuting

Essential Functions

  • Perform communication systems Operations and Maintenance functions in support of the LISC contract in the Range Data Communications Center (RDCC) under the direction of senior technicians.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, fault isolation, and corrective maintenance on individual equipment and systems associated with data transmission systems.
  • Assist in isolating system faults to individual units and further reduce fault to the lowest level subassembly.
  • Perform other duties/cross utilization as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Associate of Science Degree in Electronic Technology or related field, technical school training or equivalent military training or combination of education and experience.
  • Two (2) or more years related technical experience
  • Knowledge of communications equipment and technology including but not limited to serial data, modems, T1/DS1, multiplexors, cryptographic/encryption devices, asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), SONET, and IP/Ethernet networking, preferred
  • Understand the fundamentals of using test equipment, and how to troubleshoot

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Ability to differentiate between colors and audible sounds
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to Pt. Mugu and Santa Ynez Peak, CA.
  • Flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship
  • Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License

The hourly rate for this role is determined by a Collective Bargaining Unit and ranges from $30.89 to $38.58. RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training and preferred skills and knowledge.
