The Position

This position manages designated donor relations elements of the program including but not limited to: strategic planning, conception and budgeting of all special events and speaker series sessions; utilization of event gifts and recognition awards; coordination of fundraising campaigns; stakeholder relationship management; networking and prospecting; and partnering with the Foundation Executive Director and key stakeholders to identify top stewardship prospects. This position collaborates with other internal departments and serves on various committees (including all Foundation Standing Committees), the affinity group and community boards; and partners and assist the Executive Director, key stakeholders, Foundation Trustees, community members, and the Director Advancement and Community Impact on the creation of strategies for developing donor relations and stewardship standards and actively contributing to the success of Strategy Four of the College's Strategic Plan and the spirit and culture of philanthropy. In addition, this position supports the Foundation's many annual fundraising campaigns; creates and uses a variety of communication methods and materials; manages constituent/donor database, and manages office and foundation operations in absence of Executive Director.


What You Will Do

  1. Manages designated donor relations elements of the program including but not limited to: strategic planning, conception and budgeting of all special events and speaker series sessions; utilization of event gifts and recognition awards; coordination of fundraising campaigns; stakeholder relationship management; networking and prospecting; and partnering with the Foundation Executive Director and key stakeholders to identify top stewardship prospects.
  2. Collaborates with other internal departments and serves on various committees (including all Foundation Standing Committees), meetings, the affinity group and community boards; and partners and assist the Executive Director, key stakeholders, Foundation Trustees, community members, and the Director of Advancement and Community Impact on the creation of strategies for developing donor relations and stewardship standards and actively contributing to to the success of Strategy Four of the College's Strategic Plan and the spirit and culture of philanthropy.
  3. Coordinates special events from strategic planning, conception and budgeting to event conclusion which requires a working knowledge of the College and Foundation Strategic Plans and includes: prospecting, solicitation, relationship building with event donors and committee volunteers, tracking of event results, establishment of vendor relationships and event budget assistance; events include but are not limited to: Annual Scholarship Celebration; Annual Donor/Scholar Reception; The Blauvelt Speaker Series; Legacy Campaign Stewardship Events; Annual Benefit Concert; Annual Foundation Golf Outing; providing assistance to Alumni Events and all other awareness and fundraising events as assigned.
  4. Manages office in absence of Executive Director and addresses donor questions and concerns related to fund administration and beneficiaries, gift acknowledgments, and report requirements and understands where to secure information and when to elevate highly complex situations to the immediate manager
  5. In collaboration with the immediate manager, other designated personnel; manages the annual campaign and event collateral from design to distribution; and works closely with College Relations on event promotion, public relations, email marketing campaigns and social media activities.
  6. Supports the Foundation's many annual fundraising campaigns by creating and implementing a variety of communication methods and materials, carrying out assigned appeal activities and managing constituent/donor database using Raiser's Edge.
  7. Assists, supports and promotes the Foundation's scholarship program, participates in events; manages related data within AcademicWorks; provides student service assistance from inquiries to scholarship processing.
  8. Assumes a key role in the identification of major gift prospects to support Foundation programs and campaigns under the guidance of the Executive and Advancement Directors; establishes long-term relationships with community leaders, business leaders, and civic organizations in an effort to seek annual contributions and participates in designated community and civic functions.
  9. Serves on campus wide committees and hiring search committees as requested.
  10. Related projects and duties as assigned.

The Successful Candidate Must Have

1. Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree and additional2 years of experience (total of 5 years) in lieu of degree

2. At least three years of verifiable experience in fundraising and special events management

3. Two years' prior professional networking and relationship building experience that includes recent and relevant participation in civic, community and/or business organizations.

4. At least four years of leadership experience with accountability for individual and team, project or program results.

5. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and proficiency in the Raiser's Edge donor management software.
