Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The Proposal Specialist is responsible for the management and development of customer quotes for new and existing business cases, following the established company financial guidelines, and ensures the proposals are completed to meet the customer requirements. Monitors the quote from initiation through delivery to ensure it meets customer and KGP business requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Works cross functionally in the development of capabilities and internal costs to develop a quote or bid. Collaborates with cross functional departments to ensure all RFQ package requirements are met
  • Ensures all pricing implemented is appropriate for market level and is consistent with pricing guidelines
  • Applies appropriate terms and conditions to quotes or proposals consistent with company guidelines
  • Recommends adjustments to quote/proposal pricing in order to meet customer objectives and departmental financial objectives
  • Enters and ensures delivery and storage of the quote in company's system
  • Provides status reports and measurements through the life of a quote to customers, internal team members and management
  • Manages the process of planning and development of timetables, tracking, and documentation as it relates to quotes
  • Identifies business problems through workflow analysis, statistical analysis and forecasting techniques
  • Identifies and resolves customer, supplier, and contractor issues related to quotes and bids during the development process
  • Performs other duties as requested by the Quotes Supervisor

SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to, promote, and accept responsibility for compliance to Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, Industry Consensus Standards, and KGPCo Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual.
  • Participate in job site safety and hazard analysis

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONS AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Ability to read and understand basic instructions, short communications, and memos; draft simple written correspondence; and effectively communicate in one-on-one or small group settings with customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Capable of performing calculations involving American currency and standard units of weight, volume, and distance.
  • The ability to follow written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
