Purpose

To focus on students in the College of Fine Arts (COFA) Student Success Program, designing a career development curriculum, lead workshops tailored to the Fine Arts Marketing Enrichment (FAME) program, collaborate on self-exploration workshops with the Life Design Coordinator, and support students as they pursue professional opportunities. Identify COFA populations not engaging with career services and develop strategies to involve them while providing coaching to the broader student population.

Responsibilities
  • Career Development Curriculum: Design a career development curriculum that focuses on students in COFA's student success program, based on NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) competencies. Update curriculum on an ongoing basis based on current research, employer feedback and student input.

  • Workshop Facilitation and Coordination: Design, coordinate, and facilitate workshops tailored to the FAME program, collaborate on career exploration workshops with the Life Design Coordinator, and offer mentorship as students pursue professional opportunities. Performs back-of-house administrative functions to support the delivery of workshops, guest speakers and other CCE events.

  • Student Engagement: Identify COFA populations not engaging with career services and develop strategies to involve them while providing coaching to the broader student population.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and at least three years' experience coordinating or administering a program.

  • Experience in event planning and implementation

  • Experience developing social media content to increase stakeholder engagement.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with students in higher education.

  • One year experience creating mentorship programs for students.

  • Familiarity with career tracks in the arts.

  • Database management experience.

  • Community engagement experience.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provided a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range

$50,000 - $54,000

Working Conditions
  • At least 4 days in office per week-student-facing position

  • Prolonged screen time

  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

  • Use of manual dexterity.

Work Shift

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
