As the state or assigned geographic Transportation Business Group Lead, you will lead your assigned team providing overall responsibility and direction necessary to achieve assigned performance metrics. You will also provide leadership for client management and Go/No-go decisions as well as review of contracts, scopes of work, and fee proposals in support of MOA approvals for the assigned area of responsibility. Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for meeting assigned performance metrics, including, but not limited to, goals for net fees earned, utilization of staff, and minimizing project losses.
- Take responsibility for the operations of your group, including staff development, profitability, morale, quality control and marketing support
- Function as Project Manager and take responsibility for production on projects in addition to management responsibilities
- Take administrative responsibility for section staff and technical service functions, and lead and coordinate services performed by assigned sections
- Work with Area Business Development Lead for effective delivery of marketing, proposals and interviews
- Be directly involved with clients for efficient business development and project delivery
- See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system - Implement, monitor and support company policy
- Take responsibility for selecting, recruiting, training, developing and managing technical personnel
- Manage and develop multidiscipline teams
- Work cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production efforts
- Perform other duties as needed to sustain a healthy and growing team
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of assigned geography, clients, technical disciplines, projects, and market influences.
- Experience leading an engineering team in service to DOT clients.
- Experience in delivering projects, including alternative delivery, to DOT clients
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 10 years experience
- Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Good leadership and organizational skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
