Job Overview:

The Sr. Director of Infrastructure PMO (Project Management Office) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the portfolio of infrastructure projects within McKesson Technology. This individual will ensure the successful delivery of IT infrastructure projects within the Enterprise Infrastructure & Technology Platforms organization by driving execution, providing strategic direction, leading teams and enhancing collaboration. The Sr. Director will work closely with executive leadership, project managers, and technical teams to align project objectives with the company's strategic goals. This role will act as liaison between business units and the PMO, as well as Infrastructure leaders across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Infrastructure PMO.

  • Align infrastructure projects with the organization's strategic objectives and business goals.

  • Provide executive presence and leadership in project planning, execution, and delivery.

Project Portfolio Management:

  • Drive the execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Prioritize and allocate resources effectively to meet project demands.

  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior leadership and stakeholders.

  • Facilitate executive-level presentations and reports, providing clear and concise updates.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Process Improvement:

  • Develop and enforce PMO processes, standards, and best practices.

  • Continuously improve project management methodologies and frameworks.

  • Implement tools and technologies to enhance project management efficiency and effectiveness.

Resource Management:

  • Leveraging tools and best practices, enable resource management across the Enterprise Infrastructure & Technology Platforms.

Communication Hub:

  • Act as the communication hub for the EITP organization.

  • Develop communication standards and documents across the need of the organization.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers and coordinators.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

  • Provide guidance and support to project teams, ensuring adherence to PMO standards.

Risk Management:

  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues.

  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.

Technical Oversight:

  • Stay current with emerging infrastructure technologies and industry trends.

  • Ensure technical solutions align with organizational standards and objectives.

Minimum Requirements

Typically requires 13+ years of professional experience and 6+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communication, organization, and people motivation skills (or equivalent experience).

Critical Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a PMO.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • High level technical understanding of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, database, middleware and cloud technologies.

Additional Skills

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is preferred.

  • Strong executive presence with excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.

This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$159,100 - $265,100
