Responsibilities

As the Lead Facilities & Maintenance Technician, you'll be the superhero of our facility, swooping in to save the day with your repair skills and maintenance expertise! Under the guidance of our Facilities Management team, you'll ensure that everything is in tip-top shape, keeping Newport Academy a safe and welcoming place for everyone.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include:

  • Utility Wizardry: Use your magic touch to maintain all utilities-plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical systems, backup generators, and grounds maintenance. You'll be the go-to guru for all things maintenance!
  • Health & Safety Champion: Complete Health and Safety binder requirements, including daily and weekly sign-off logs, to keep us compliant and safe. Safety first, always!
  • Trainer Extraordinaire: Share your wisdom by training our Facilities and Maintenance Technicians on day-to-day functions for routine and preventative maintenance. Pass on the knowledge!
  • Vendor Coordinator: Work your charm to coordinate preventative maintenance with outside vendors and contractors, building professional relationships that keep our facility running like a well-oiled machine.
  • Facility Inspector: Conduct periodic walk-throughs to document necessary repairs, ensuring we meet Newport Healthcare standards. You'll be our eyes and ears!
  • Water Temperature Guru: Keep things cool (or hot!) by performing periodic water temperature checks and recordings.
  • Sprinkler System Specialist: Monitor our sprinkler systems by conducting pressure and water level recordings. Let's keep everything flowing smoothly!
  • Installation Pro: Get hands-on with new equipment installations and facility upgrades, bringing our spaces to life with your skills!
  • Emergency Repair Hero: Be ready to jump into action for emergency repairs to prevent and resolve health and safety issues. Your quick thinking will save the day!
  • Weather Warrior: During inclement weather, ensure our walkways and grounds are clear and safe for everyone. You'll be the hero of the storm!
  • Task Prioritizer: Prioritize and complete tasks based on health and safety compliance standards, keeping our facility in top shape.
  • Other Duties: Embrace the unexpected and perform other duties as assigned-every day will be a new adventure!

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) plus years of experience in facilities maintenance.
  • One (1) year of experience as a Lead Maintenance Technician
  • Healthcare Facility experience preferred.
