Join a caring team supporting Scripps Green Hospital as a Financial Coordinator - Transplant in the Organ Acquisition department. You'll be on the front line for creating a positive Scripps Health experience for our patients while being responsible for the following

The Transplant Financial Coordinator is part of a multidisciplinary team charged with the responsibility of providing accurate and professional financial clearance to patients seeking Transplant Services. The TFC's are responsible for the analysis, validation and regulatory and compliance activities associated with the financial risk to Scripps Health by performing an accurate financial clearance review along with a comprehensive analysis of patient and payor specific benefits and patient liability. Coordination and communication with the patient, clinical teams including physicians, nurses, social workers and pharmacists is key for the successful financial analysis and clearance. The TFC acts as an advocate on behalf of patient and family to investigate with payor and meet with patients to educate on transplant benefits and personal responsibilities for both solid organ and bone marrow transplant programs before and after transplantation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Three-year minimum in business, hospital, medical accounting, third party billing and public contract. Extensive knowledge and comprehension of multiple insurance standards and regulations. Knowledge of self-funded payor plans and requirements and managed care requirements. Excellent analytical skills required to determine COB requirements/discrepancies, able to determine insurance priority based on episode of care. Determine eligibility compliance standards based on predetermined regulations. Knowledge of billing documentation requirements. Verbal and written communication skills required in order to effectively obtain required information from patients, insurance companies, physicians, patient advocates and internal and external agencies. Ability to train new insurance specialists' staff in established policies and procedures of the verifications process. Must possess excellent communication and writing skills. Demonstrate advanced team-oriented capabilities, along with a willingness to assist fellow employees within the department and the organ and bone marrow divisions. Must also be able to work independently and demonstrate a strong imitative in order to achieve the highest possible level of customer service and satisfaction. Must meet and/or exceed department levels and standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree in business or healthcare field with coursework in accounting, business, computers or health care administration. Bachelor's degree preferred, Associates required. Manage Care experience preferred. Prefer a minimum of one year as a Financial Coordinator for Transplant Services
