In the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer (Hydropower), we'll count on you to: Coordinate the work of design engineers with the balance of a multidiscipline team throughout the entire project's development Develop hydro-mechanical project solutions for both modernization and new projects. Perform engineering consulting, including condition assessments, studies, mechanical engineering and detailed design, calculations, and specification development. Establish client relations and participate in marketing, design, and production meetings Assume technical lead within a project execution team Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines Coordinate workload throughout the project to complete project deliverables on schedule Evaluating field installations and recommending design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions. Work with Project Manager and Project Controller on project reviews with management as needed Provide field support during construction. Provide support in developing proposals. Direct the activities of other engineering professionals and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed Perform other duties as needed Keywords: hydro, hydro power, hydro electric, hydro-power, hydro-electric, power generation Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in Engineering Hydro power industry experience Experience with rotating equipment, heavy machinery, and engineering design Previous experience with an engineering consulting firm LI-MO1 Required Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in Engineering A minimum of 10 years of experience Professional Engineers (PE) license Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit) An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture What We Believe HDR is our company. The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
