As one of six major research themes within UCLA Health, the goal of UCLA Health JCCC is to develop and foster visible concentrations of excellence in basic and interdisciplinary cancer research and patient care at UCLA.

The Senior Director of Development for the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation will design and manage a major gifts program to support key cancer initiatives. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role involves developing strategies for fundraising, stewardship, and communications, while personally cultivating and soliciting six- and seven-figure gifts. The Senior Director will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and lead a team, ensuring progress towards fundraising goals. Salary: $8,541.67 - $18,975 monthly
Qualifications

Required:


  • A minimum of five to seven years of progressively significant, relevant,successful experience in fundraising, with an emphasis on grateful patientfundraising and major gift experience and/or prior professional experiencein a related field such as sales, marketing, or business development.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization with a successful trackrecord of building a culture of philanthropy and strong partnerships withinternal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in development program or comparable programplanning and management with a strong understanding of major giftfundraising, preferably in an academic medical school setting.
  • Skill in developing and implementing successful strategies for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of individuals, corporations, andfoundations.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and proficiency in prioritizing assignmentsto complete work in a timely manner and on deadline.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact effectively with donors, volunteers, academic leaders, faculty, and staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong experience participating in strategic planning.
  • Ability to render mature judgments, tolerate ambiguity, and navigate and beeffective in complex environments.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who works well independently while, at thesame time, working well collectively and collaboratively with colleagues toachieve common goals.
  • Some travel with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.

Preferred:


  • Prior experience in healthcare or higher education is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
