DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Be part of the uniformed PUC Motor Carrier Enforcement Division covering the 67 counties of Pennsylvania. In this role, you will have the authority to stop and inspect all commercial motor vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition. Your focus will be protecting the motoring public by placing unsafe vehicles and drivers Out-of- Service. On occasion, you will work side by side and in conjunction with State and Local Police with the goal of preventing and reducing the number injuries and fatalities involving commercial motor vehicles. The Public Utility Enforcement Officer conducts Safety Audits to ensure that new motor carriers possess accurate knowledge of the regulations and safety management practices in place, which lends itself to safer operations on the highways of Pennsylvania. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, Home Headquartered.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Special Requirement:
- You must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Conditions of Employment:
- Successful completion of training and safety courses within six months of employment.
- You must reside in or be willing to relocate to Westmoreland County within six months of employment.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
