The Document Control Specialist, working with Configuration Management and Engineering teams, will play a key part in maintaining and managing critical documents and ensuring that our processes comply with internal standards and industry regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain and control the flow of documents and records for all engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance processes
  • Developing and documenting department processes and applying industry best practices to the CEC environment
  • Ensure proper categorization, labeling and filing of all critical documents (e.g., technical manuals, drawings, specifications)
  • Track the revision history of documents and ensure proper version control
  • Assist in preparation of reports and other documentation for internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with various departments (engineering, production, quality, etc.) to ensure document standards are maintained
  • Review documents for completeness, accuracy and compliance with internal procedures and regulations

Qualifications

  • Two to four years of experience in document control or related field
  • Knowledge of document control systems and version control practices
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain organized files and records
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

ADDITIONAL DESIRED CAPABILITIES

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Costpoint experience
  • Certification in Document Control (e.g., CDCS- Certified Document Control Specialist) is a plus
  • Ability to manage multiple versions of documents and prevent errors in revision tracking
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle large volumes of documents while meeting deadlines

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand. The employee must frequently lift or move objects up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
