Job Summary:



The Assistant Professor will perform preventive outpatient cardiology and general outpatient cardiology duties and may be expected to participate in consultation. They will also be focused on preventive cardiology research and advancing knowledge in cardiovascular risks associated with pediatric obesity and its related conditions.

Key Responsibilities:



  • 1 clinic day per week dedicated to preventive outpatient cardiology.
  • 1 half day clinic days per week dedicated to general outpatient cardiology.
  • 12 half day Saturday clinics per year.
  • 6 weeks of on call consultations.
  • Perform clinical research in obesity-related cardiovascular risk factors on cardiovascular structure and function in youth.
  • Submit and present research in abstract form at national meetings and publish research in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
  • Submit grants for intramural and extramural support of research projects.
  • Provide research mentorship and teaching to trainees (eg students, post-docs, clinical fellows).



Work Location:



Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.



  • Doctor of Medicine (MD)/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Advanced fellowship training in preventive cardiology or obesity medicine.
  • Board-certified in Pediatrics.
  • Board-eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.


Condition of Employment:

* Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado

* Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Basic/Clinical Research experience that includes writing research protocols, writing manuscripts.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:



  • Deep knowledge of preventive cardiology, congenital heart disease anatomy, physiology and clinical implications
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills.
  • Writes in a clear, concise, organized manner the intended research

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary rate (or hiring rate) for this position has been established as HIRING RATE:

$240,000

The above salary rate (or hiring rate) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
