We are seeking a Legal Counsel / Senior Legal Counsel in San Francisco (or Chicago) to join our rapidly expanding JLL Technologies platform. This role will primarily involve providing strategic legal guidance to our internal commercial and product teams. The goal is to support the sale of a diverse suite of SaaS products and services, manage our in-house venture fund and Proptech incubator, and provide solutions to enable the core businesses of capital markets, leasing, and work dynamics. JLL seeks to leverage its data experience, and AI. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic legal team in an exciting, fast-paced, technology-driven environment. This strategic role reports directly to the General Counsel of JLL Technologies. Responsibilities: - Structure, draft, and negotiate complex customer agreements for SaaS and other technology-enabled products and services, including professional services agreements, data processing agreements, intellectual property agreements, and statements of work. -Manage agreements to ensure compliance with company policies and risk tolerances while supporting the continuous improvement of standard-form contracts and legal processes. - Stay current on U.S. laws and regulations applicable to SaaS service providers, including those regarding privacy, data management, security, compliance requirements, and the supervisory bodies that issue such regulations. - Develop a comprehensive understanding of artificial intelligence technologies and their implications within the legal landscape, including how to leverage AI tools effectively to enhance legal research, contract analysis, and compliance management. This entails staying informed about advancements in AI relevant to our industry and identifying opportunities for integrating AI solutions to optimize legal operations and improve overall efficiency. - Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management on commercial matters. - Product counseling the launch of new products, and tools. - Stay updated on legislative changes and proactively recommend policy or product changes necessary to protect JLL Technologies. - Developing sophisticated prompts that yield precise and relevant information, ensuring that AI systems provide the right insights for specific legal inquiries. - Provide training to the business regarding legal and compliance risk issues. - Develop best-in-class templates, playbooks, and policy documentation. Requirements: - J.D. degree and membership in at least one U.S. state bar. - Ability to handle multiple projects at once. - Experience working with cross-functional teams to reach objectives. - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. - Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. - Familiarity with relevant legal technologies and tools. Estimated total compensation for this position: 150,000.00 - 200,000.00 USD per yearThe total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed.
