In the role of Electrical Resident Engineer we'll count on you to:

  • Oversee the electrical upgrades and ensure adherence to project specification, timelines and budgets
  • Manage and coordinat with subcontractors, suppliers and other personnel on-site to ensure timely and safe execution of the electrical work
  • Monitor the day to day operations at the construction site to ensure work is performed in compliance with safety standards, engineering designs and local codes
  • Conduct regular site inspections to assess the progress and quality of electrical installations and identify any potential issues
  • Review and verify electrical designs to ensure they meet project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory compliance
  • Perform quality control checks on completed work to ensure it meets the required standards and specifications
  • Perform regular safety inspections and risk assessment on-site
  • Serves as the main point to contact between the project team, city agency, contractors and regulatory agencies
  • Provide progress reports, including electrical systems performance, to stakeholder
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of documentation for regulatory permits and approvals
  • Oversee the testing, commissioning and startup of the upgraded electrical systems
  • Ensure that all equipment and electrical systems are fully operational, meet performance specification and are ready for integration into the wastewater treatment process
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related
  • NY Professional Engineer is strongly desired
  • Experience in working with high voltage electrical systems, generators, switchgear and control systems specific to wastewater treatment processes
  • Experience with NYC DEP

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field
  • 10 years related experience in various aspects of construction including estimating, bidding, preparing purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, and field engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Bluebeam, estimating & scheduling software, and web-based document collaboration software
  • Experience developing and managing construction engineering and inspection programs
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
