The Manager of Predictive Planning and Insights (PPI) Center of Excellence (COE) leads a team that partners with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to provide forecasts and market insights to Sherwin's business units. This role will lead the development and deployment of innovative PPI tools across the enterprise, collaborating with leaders and employees at all levels to drive strategic alignment and operational excellence. Alongside the Director, you will lead a team of analysts to advance a culture of continuous improvement and enterprise solution development as well as work in close collaboration with the FP&A COE promoting advanced modeling capabilities and ensuring a seamless integration.

Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

Sales Forecast Modelling



  • Collaborate with Enterprise Finance and Business Unit Finance to develop forecasts tied to external market impacts
  • Collaborate with Sherwin's data science team to develop various statistical forecast models
  • Analyze market data and communicate key business insights


Strategic Vision and Roadmap



  • Collaborate with COE lead to explore innovative technologies and use cases that drive:

    • Automation and integration of PPI forecasting
    • Business process efficiencies that yield:

      • Enhanced accuracy and confidence in budgets and bias-free forecasts
      • Identification of key internal and external business drivers
      • Data-driven financial targets informed by machine learning
      • Predictive modeling and external signal integration
      • Decision-making aligned with profitability




Process Standards and Methods



  • Refine operating and governance model to enable efficient deployment
  • Collaborate with PPI and GPOs to annually review and optimize processes


Solution Development and Support



  • Partner with business groups to gather requirements, design solutions and ensure thorough testing for new solutions


Change Management and Enablement



  • Develop PPI capability awareness and training with the COE Director
  • Ensure enterprise-wide visibility into key metrics and KPIs through reporting and dashboards


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

FORMAL EDUCATION:

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science or related field, or equivalent work experience


Preferred:



  • Advanced degrees or certifications (MBA, MS/PhD in technology, mathematics, data science or economics)


KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

Required:



  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in a technical or business role, focusing on process improvement, data management, and analytics
  • Proven Experience with:

    • Business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, QlikView)
    • Statistical modeling tools (e.g. Dataiku, Excel-based modeling, regression, machine learning)
    • Data management and governance

  • Demonstrated expertise in:

    • Data storytelling and visualization
    • Predictive modeling and forecasting
    • Process optimization and improvement
    • Team management and leadership
    • Effective communication and stakeholder management



TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:



  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with analyzing large amounts of financial and operational data to derive meaningful trends, map connections, and identify drivers of key P&L line items like revenue and cost.


Preferred:



  • Experience working with time series data is preferred. Prior experience with Python-based libraries for time series, will be a plus!
  • Experience in full stack data science, including developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.
