Scheduler (Electrical Dept.) - Pineland Lumber
Georgia-Pacific has an immediate opening for an hourly Scheduler in the Electrical Department of our Lumber mill in Pineland, Texas. Compensation: To commensurate with experience. The Experience You Will Bring (Requirements): * At least one (1) year of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or military environment. * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. What Will Put You Ahead: * At least two (2) years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, construction, or military environment. * Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. What You Will Do In Your Role (Responsibilities include but are not limited to): * Create complete packages with all necessary documents such as precision electrical specifications, job hazard analysis, job plan evaluation, job work requirements (confined space, clearances, etc.) so that electrical technicians will have the necessary information to efficiently complete work. * Review work requests and plan Electrical and EH&S work orders in MP2 (including scoping out jobs, identifying needed parts, getting quotes for parts, and submitting requisitions to order parts). * Identify job hazards and services, materials, and permit requirements. * Review all executed jobs for accuracy and to identify gaps or opportunities for improvement. * Evaluate all work orders to maximize the efficiency of the electrical technicians by using the correct resources, equipment, work instructions and parts. * Every week schedule to 100% staffing utilization based on available hours. * Pre-load PMs, training, vacations, and floaters at the beginning of each weekly scheduling cycle. * Pre-load shutdown schedules with routine repetitive items. * Participate in priority and planning meetings, outage coordination meetings, and schedule review meetings. * Maintain accurate equipment lists and Bill of Materials (BOM). Other Considerations: * Effective communication skills (both written and oral) within varying levels of the organization. * Work in a hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environment. * Must be willing to work a flexible schedule. * Basic computer skills.
