Telehealth Program Director

Under direction of the Executive Director of Telehealth Services, the Telehealth Program Director assists in the development and implementation of Telehealth programs across SIU School of Medicine and SIU Healthcare. This position develops policies and procedures for Telehealth services, directs training services and manages clinical operations for Telehealth. This position will also expand the training curriculum for telehealth and focus on telehealth education at various levels. This position acts for the Executive Director in their absence.

70% Administration

1. Plans, develops, directs, coordinates, and evaluates clinical services for the Office of Telehealth Services;
2. Develops clinical policies and procedures for Telehealth services;
3. Acts for the Executive Director in their absence;
4. Develops training curriculum and materials for both SIU Medicine providers/staff and telepresenters at the Telehealth distant sites;
5. Coordinates training and evaluation programs with external Telehealth partners;
6. Manages the development of Telehealth grant applications and implementation, when requested/needed;
7. Coordinates data collection/review and reporting for clinical services;
8. Works collaboratively with SIU departments, regional partners, and the Telehealth team to improve patient care through Telehealth excellence; and
9. Writes training materials and is able to train clinicians, staff, and telepresenters in the use of Telehealth technology.

30% Education

1. Plans and secures speakers for annual Telehealth conference;
2. Creates content and implements Telehealth educational modules for clinicians;
3. Creates content and implements Telehealth medical student elective; and
4. Creates content and works with marketing team on patient engagement resources and other patient-facing materials.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree
2. A total of three (3) years in education, training and/or work experience in a health-related field.
   *Master's Degree in a health-related field may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.

Preferred/Desirable Qualifications

1. Master's degree in a health-related field.
2. Working understanding of academic medical centers and their mission.
3. Experience working with telehealth, information technology and/or rural stakeholders.
4. Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois or other related healthcare training.
