Job Summary

The Ground Support Analyst delivers on our Purpose by assisting with the development, deployment, and continual improvement of operational data collection programs and processes, as well as the analysis and dissemination of operational data trends to support the direction of the department strategy. This role will deliver data analysis and solutions that illustrate a clear understanding of the business problem at hand and the broader impact across the operational group and company. The Ground Support Analyst is a strategic and analytical thinker who looks forward to the opportunity to help pilot the future of Southwest Airlines.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive GSE Maintenance Program using advanced data analytics to support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Assist engineering team in performing root cause failure analysis, focusing on using historical data to help paint the full picture
  • Analyze equipment parts data and spend; Identify areas for cost savings and the standard parts based on historical data
  • Use data to assist consultants in determining the best ways to maintain equipment based on factors including fleet condition, engine hours, environment, odometer, and calendar
  • Analyze equipment telemetry data to identify areas of improvement including Mean time to Repairs (MTTR), cost savings, additional maintenance practices, and procedural improvements
  • Build and maintain databases, dashboards, KPIs, and reporting tools to track GSE maintenance program performance and reliability
  • Implement predictive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
  • Collect, clean, and manage large datasets from various sources, including maintenance logs, telemetry, and operational records
  • Utilize Alteryx, Tableau, Quickbase, SQL, Microsoft PowerApps, equipment telematics software, and fleet management systems
  • Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, or best practices and evaluate how they will fit into the strategic vision of the Department or Company
  • Provide strategic analytics from various data sources to support Department and Company's strategic vision
  • Participate in projects and improvement efforts by contributing to defined objectives and structured work, developing recommendations, and implementing changes
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of computer sciences and data analysis
  • Skilled in understanding and applying information to contribute to the organization's strategic plan
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Ability to analyze needs and product requirements to create a design
  • Ability to generate or use different sets of rules for combining or grouping things in different ways
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Ability to come up with unusual or clever ideas about a given topic or situation, or to develop creative ways to solve a problem
  • Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted
  • Ability to generate data visualizations and presentations to be presented to Leadership
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Intermediate-level experience, fully functioning broad knowledge in:
    • Data analytics through an asset management and aircraft maintenance management software
    • Technical documents and fundamentals
Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities
  • Ability to perform work duties from desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with potential exposure to excessive noise, vibrations and/or sensory conditions
Other Qualifications
  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $82,800 per year to $92,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
