Online Instruction is seeking (1) a dedicated and experienced Instructional Technology Specialist.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Instructional Technology Specialist are the following:

Administrative Support:



  • Provide timely and professional responses to inquiries.
  • Advise the Senior Director on trends and research related to learning technologies and faculty development.
  • Representing the office in campus committees, meetings, and relevant professional forums.


Technology-Enabled Teaching Support:



  • Offer one-on-one guidance on technological and pedagogical practices.
  • Create and update support materials for faculty and students.
  • Maintain the Perimeter College Faculty Forum.


Course Development Assistance:



  • Review online courses and recommend improvements for technology use and pedagogy.
  • Evaluate course accessibility and oversee template creation.
  • Facilitate professional development for faculty teaching online.


Community and Professional Engagement



  • Research and share best practices for online teaching and technology use.
  • Attend and present at professional conferences and workshops.
  • Engage with instructional designers and learning technologists to align with institutional goals.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.


Preferred Hiring Requirements:



  • Master's degree in Instructional Technology or a related field.
  • At least three years experience in higher education.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (e.g., Brightspace, Canvas) and other instructional tools like Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Strong knowledge of learning technology principles, accessibility standards, and online teaching methodologies.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies quickly and effectively.
