ABOUT YOUR ROLE

The Staff Accountant II will be responsible for providing support across a range of accounting functions which could include financial, management reporting, and operations. This position will be a flexible resource within the accounting department covering a range of responsibilities such as ensuring the accuracy and completeness of general ledger transactions, internal/external reporting, accounts payable, and enhancing operational efficiency. This role will also support maintaining the Bank's accounting procedures, supporting operational activities, and ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles as adopted by the Bank.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Prepares journal entries, analyses, account reconciliations, and supports the month and quarter end process (not limited to filing of quarterly earnings release, form 10-Q's/10-Ks, ad hoc filings, etc.)
2. Performs general ledger account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors as required.
3. Assists the department with accounting analyses and problem solving including, but not limited to: implementation of new accounting pronouncements, integration of new systems, conversions of existing systems, general ledger maintenance, subledger mapping, analyzing transactions and data sets with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Responds to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits (internal and external).
5. Assists with compliance of bank wide Sarbanes Oxley controls, risk assessments, and other related initiatives.
6. Responsible for preparation of schedules and commentary with respects to variances and comparisons between periods, both budget and actual.
7. Assists in managing the integrity of the budget in the general ledger system.
8. Participates in the review and/or redesign of operational processes to support reconciliation, dataflow controls, and increase the operational efficiency of the Bank's accounting systems.
9. Provides administrative support for our reconciliation platform BlackLine.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned by the accounting department, which includes but is not limited to, monthly/quarterly reporting, supporting accounts payable, etc.
WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU


  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with superior aptitude for numbers.
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint -- knowledge of Power BI a plus.
  • Reliable, dependable, and maintain a degree of flexibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to inclusively collaborate with others to solve problems.



YOUR QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Accounting required.
  • 1.5-3 years of internal experience in Accounting, or 2-3 years of external experience in Accounting or related field required.
  • Eligible to sit for the Certified Public Accounting exam.

* Maintains frequent contact with the accounting department, other departments, and senior management.
* Maintains occasional contact with consultants and auditors.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Hybrid work environment and ability to travel throughout the Company's footprint.
