Our Residential Treatment Center (RTC) staff in Eden Prairie and our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) staff in Uptown Minneapolis understand the issues the LGBTQIA+ community face, and our mission is to give clients the tools needed for addiction and mental health recovery.

We strive to provide the best client-centered care by employing and developing highly qualified staff trained in working specifically with the LGBTQIA+ community and dedicated to service excellence. In addition to our clinical team, made up of counselors, mental health clinicians, and therapists, we also employ an experienced nursing/tech team who provide 24/7 medical care to our residential clients in Eden Prairie, MN. Our Nurses and Techs epitomize teamwork and service excellence.

The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for answering incoming calls from referents, potential clients, and their family members. The Admissions Coordinator also schedules and conducts over-the-phone and face-to-face assessments of potential clients; prepares admission paperwork; completes the admissions process with admitting clients; follows up with potential clients and referents, and assists utilization review department by submitting clinical information to insurance companies, state or county to secure funding in the initial authorization process. The Admissions Coordinator must have excellent communication, documentation, and people skills.


Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary degree preferred.

Experience: Two or more years' experience in intake assessment activities, preferably within an acute chemical dependency or psychiatric setting.

Additional Requirements: A working knowledge of the DSM-V and ASAM criteria. A working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field and some working knowledge of utilization review processes are highly preferred.

Knows and understands Minnesota Statutes Chapters 245G, 260E (Child Maltreatment), and 245A, 626.557 and 626.5572 (Vulnerable Adults). Thorough knowledge of CARF, state and federal regulatory requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Documents and processes inquiry calls in accordance with Intake Policies.
  2. Obtains administrative approval for all admissions.
  3. Completes admission paperwork in accordance with hospital policy.
  4. Tracking of pending and scheduling of intakes.
  5. Makes follow up calls to clients who are "no shows".
  6. Confirms funding approval for all incoming clients.
  7. May initiate Utilization Review process and completes related forms as needed.
  8. Demonstrates excellent guest relations and counsels employees in need of guest relations training.
  9. Notifies Administration of problems or significant events.
  10. Identifies safety problems and ensures corrective actions are taken.
  11. Monitors and manages waiting lists.
  12. Completes intake screening and assessments with potential clients and ensures treatment or referral disposition recommendations are made and documented.

  1. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with hospital staff, physicians and administration.
  2. Must be able to work effectively and efficiently in an independent role.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively and see well enough to read charts, treatment plans and typewritten materials, hear well enough to detect noises on the unit and have the ability to discern odors frequently.
  4. Ability to remain calm while working efficiently under stressful conditions.
  5. Must possess excellent communication skills, to include writing techniques for reports and appeals, and verbal presentations for telephone interactions and training seminars.
  6. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position to include both sitting for long periods of time; walking the grounds and units of the facility from occasionally to frequently; ability to reach above, at or below waist height, kneel, bend, stoop, turn, twist and throw from occasionally to frequently.
  7. Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds frequently, 10-50 pounds occasionally.
  8. Ability to safely handle hazardous/infectious waste.
  9. Ability to work in an environment where chemicals are used for cleaning frequently; mechanical and electrical hazards may be present occasionally; and dust, mist and steam are generated in housekeeping tasks frequently.
  10. Must be capable of the manual dexterity needed to use small business machines (such as faxes, copiers, computers, phone systems).
