Job Title: MSBI Engineer

Work Location: Minneapolis, MN

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Developer with 10 to 14 years of experience in SQL and Microsoft SSIS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Medicare and Medicaid Claims. This hybrid role requires a dedicated professional to work on complex projects and deliver high-quality solutions. The position operates during the day shift and no travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain SQL databases to support business applications and ensure optimal performance.
  • Design implement and manage ETL processes using Microsoft SSIS to facilitate data integration and transformation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for Medicare and Medicaid Claims projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and support for complex data-related issues and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure data accuracy integrity and security in all database and ETL processes.
  • Optimize and tune SQL queries and SSIS packages for improved performance and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database schemas ETL processes and data flows.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in SQL SSIS and healthcare claims processing.
  • Participate in project planning estimation and risk assessment activities to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide effective solutions that align with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in all development activities.

Qualifications

  • Possess a bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
  • Have extensive experience in SQL database development and management.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft SSIS for ETL processes.
  • Show in-depth knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid Claims processing.
  • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Display excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Have a proven track record of delivering high-quality solutions in a hybrid work model.
  • Be capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to learning and professional development.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
  • Show experience in mentoring and guiding junior team members.
  • Possess strong documentation and technical writing skills.
  • Ensure adherence to project timelines and deliverables.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $64,025 - $107,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
