Are you passionate about making a difference in the animal health industry? Under the dynamic leadership of the Director of National Accounts at MWI Animal Health, the Senior Strategic Account Manager plays a pivotal role in driving growth and innovation. This position offers you the opportunity to leverage your advanced consultative and strategic sales skills to expand our reach among national and regional customers.

In this role, you will not only retain and renew existing customer relationships but also enhance our presence by introducing targeted distribution, cutting-edge technology, and professional services solutions. You will be instrumental in crafting and executing a compelling strategy that aligns with our Key Account business vision, collaborating closely with our Sales and Specialty Groups to develop impactful sales support tools.

As a Senior Strategic Account Manager, you will be at the forefront of generating new business opportunities, whether through cold calling, engaging with industry networks, or exploring potential with existing clients. Your innovative approach will be key to our success in winning new key accounts and increasing customer share of spend.

  • Development of a GPO/Key Account Development Business Plan that support new business growth objectives for all divisions of MWI Animal Health, including specific sales strategy, objectives and tactics.
  • Ability to develop organic opportunities with existing customers and develop new business relationships with emerging customers.
  • Active pursuit of qualified and prioritized new business opportunities within the GPO/strategic accounts space.
  • Ability to work cross functionally amongst teams internally to grow the GPO/Strategic account footprint.
  • Work with the GPO customers to strengthen our partnership and implement new business solutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment. Experience working through high level contract negations with a proven track record of success. Ability to create a strong strategy amongst high level enterprise accounts, and a proven performer on executing strategies.
  • Ongoing monitoring of current market landscape for new business development related opportunities and challenges.
  • Business travel required.
  • Management of MWI Animal Health's presence and representation at select industry events.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years managing high level strategic accounts or GPOs. Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in animal health sales, pharmaceutical sales, marketing, or biotechnology experience
  • University Degree in Science or Management, post-graduate degree an asset
  • Proven ability to network and develop new business relationships
  • Advanced knowledge of pharmaceutical distribution industry
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Effective interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Effective organizational skills; attention to detail
  • Ability to consistently meet deadlines
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Office Programs

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
