Purpose of Position
NKU welcomes applicants to fill the position of Senior Project Manager to assist with the development of the Project Management Office helping to establish policies and procedures for project and change management. Responsible for project management including planning, monitoring, and reporting of IT projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:

  • Works with project team members and leadership of relevant areas to develop effective project plans

  • Directs, monitors, and reports project activity (e.g. tasks, milestones, deadlines, resource allocations, budget)

  • Coordinates and communicates between resources, departments, and stakeholders on project progress

  • Facilitates project status meetings

  • Identifies scope creep, change order requests, and project delays



Additional responsibilities include:

  • Understands requirements/specs of projects

  • Monitors/maintains project hours and budgets

  • Fosters a work environment based on cooperation, team-building, and professionalism

  • Actively pursues continuous growth and development of technical and project management expertise

  • Identifies project risks and develops contingency plans

Qualifications
No specific degree is required, but a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a business/project management field is preferred.

Three (3) or more years of managing technology projects is required. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in managing mid-to-large-scale projects such as system implementations, hardware or software deployments, and/or Enterprise Resource Planning ( ERP) migrations.

Experience with Waterfall and Agile methodologies preferred.

Experience in the Higher Education environment is preferred, but not required.

PMI's PMP certification is preferred, but not required.
