Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Capture Manager to join our Government Solutions Business Development team. The Capture Manager will lead and manage the capture process for new business opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and facilitating the preparation of winning proposals. The role of a Capture Manager is multifaceted, focusing on identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities. This job functions at the intersection of customer relationship management, strategic planning, and sales operations. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Manage Capture Process: Own the capture strategy and manage the process for identifying, developing, and winning new business opportunities. Collaborate with business development, technical, and operational teams to identify customer needs and create solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market and competitive analysis to identify potential business opportunities.
- Opportunity Qualification: Evaluate and prioritize potential opportunities based on company strategy, likelihood of success, and alignment with current capabilities. Develop and refine the capture plan to ensure a competitive advantage.
- Customer Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients to understand their needs and challenges.
- Competitive Analysis: Perform thorough market and competitor analyses to understand the landscape and identify potential threats or advantages. Continuously assess the competition and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Strategy Development: Formulate strategic plans to capture identified opportunities, including defining value propositions and differentiators.
- Proposal Development Support: Lead the development of proposal strategies, ensuring that all elements are tailored to the client's needs and expectations. Work with proposal teams to ensure alignment with the capture strategy and contribute to the development of compelling and compliant proposals.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks throughout the capture process, ensuring proper risk management strategies are in place. Maintain awareness of potential obstacles and proactively address issues as they arise.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead cross-functional teams through the capture process, including technical, financial, and operations departments. Foster a collaborative and solution-oriented environment to ensure successful proposal submissions.
- Reporting and Documentation: Track and report on capture status, milestones, and key performance indicators. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all capture efforts.
- Performance Analysis: Evaluate the effectiveness of capture strategies and processes, making adjustments as needed to improve future outcomes.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management or a similar field can be advantageous.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience selling to the Government/Government Agencies. Capture Management experience is a must. Experience in a management position can be a plus.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage effectively with clients and collaborate with team members.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills with the capacity to oversee multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines a plus.
- Problem-Solving: Proficiency in identifying challenges and crafting innovative solutions to overcome them.
