Job Title: Engineering Acquisition Specialist - Aerospace, Petrochemical, and Process Piping Fabrication Location: California, Florida (Potentially Remote with Travel) Job Summary: GP Strategies Government Solutions GPGS is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Engineering Acquisition Specialist to drive business growth in the aerospace, petrochemical, and piping/tubing process systems fabrication sectors throughout North America. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and securing high-value engineering projects. The successful candidate will leverage their industry knowledge and network to expand our market presence and achieve revenue growth targets. Key Responsibilities:
- Market Research & Opportunity Identification: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, new business opportunities, and potential clients in the aerospace, petrochemical, and piping fabrication sectors.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers in target industries, ensuring our company is top-of-mind for new engineering projects and services.
- Proposal Development & Negotiation: Collaborate with engineering and business development teams to create tailored proposals and negotiate terms that align with client requirements and company goals.
- Technical Knowledge Application: Apply engineering expertise to understand client needs, propose solutions, and effectively communicate technical capabilities to prospective clients.
- Project Acquisition & Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a strategic plan to achieve new project acquisition targets. Work with internal stakeholders to prioritize opportunities and allocate resources effectively.
- Competitive Analysis: Continuously monitor competitors, industry changes, and customer demands to refine acquisition strategies and differentiate our services.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, operations, and finance teams to ensure proposed projects are feasible and align with our company's capabilities and objectives.
- Networking & Event Participation: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and build a robust client pipeline.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or project acquisition in engineering, with a focus on aerospace, petrochemical, or piping/tubing fabrication.
- Strong understanding of technical and engineering requirements in aerospace, petrochemical, and component fabrication industries.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and support the bid and proposal of complex deals with large-scale clients.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and travel as-needed across North America to meet with prospective clients and perform job walks with Engineering/Technical experts.
