Job Summary Assist manufacturing leadership with managing daily operations in the weld shop, ensuring that all quality and NADCAP requirements are met. Maintain status as an active welder potentially spending 50% of work hours on production welding. Essential Functions
- Proficiency in GTAW with the ability to train in two alloys (S/A & Titanium).
- Maintain personal welder certification.
- Production welding of all current alloy groups.
- Monitor workmanship and continuous training of current welders.
- Assist in certifying new welders.
- Plan and execute repairs on potentially scrap castings.
- Monitor weld yields.
- Assist in developing new welding techniques and equipment improvements for production applications.
- Assist in maintaining weld wire and weld hardware control and inventory.
- Assist in maintaining and writing work instructions.
- Assist in testing and implementation of new technologies/critical input controls.
Job Responsibilities May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop method improvements within the welding process.
- Technical support to the shop floor.
- Technical liaison with customers, 3rd party accreditation services, and other Howmet Aerospace plants.
- Perform all other job duties as assigned.
- Capability to prove statistical significance within inputs/outputs.
- Knowledge of prepping welds.
- Ability to interpret specifications to ensure compliance.

- Occasional bending, reaching, pushing and pulling when retrieving and moving various items.
- Lifting intermittently of various items. Typically, assistance would be provided for weights exceeding 35 pounds.
- Good manual dexterity to operate computer equipment and precision measuring instruments.
- Oral communication via telephone or in person while interacting with customers, suppliers, or other employees.
- Position may require more than eight hours daily and more than five days weekly to complete work assignments.
- Sitting in chairs (swivel, padded, and adjustable).
- Squatting / crouching when retrieving stored items from lower shelves and file cabinets, making equipment / product inspections, etc.
- Standing intermittently.
- Visual monitoring of computer screens.
- Travel may be required.
- Must be able to pass the eye examination required for welder certification.
EHS Requirements
- Expected to assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals.
- Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report all job-related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
- Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
- Attend all EHS training.
Skills and Abilities:
- Good PC skills, written & verbal communication skills, problem solving, project management, and organizational skills
- Proficient in all MS Office applications
- Strong analytical abilities
- Excellent written & oral communications skills, able to work in a self-directed or team environment & have good organizational skills
- Must be self-driven with outstanding organization skills, self-discipline and an acute sense of urgency.
- Ability to think through complex development projects and identify gaps in plans, risks, and opportunities with the boldness to elevate when necessary.
- Must work well in a team environment and commit to continuous improvement

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School diploma or GED equivalency is required.
- Must be proficient in manual GTAW and able to pass a welder certification test.
- Formalized education in the welding field and a minimum of 5 years GTAW experience.
- Must be a certified welder to AMS-2694.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in investment castings (engineering and/or manufacturing) strongly preferred.
