Position Title: Loan Closer (Commercial) Exempt Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Commercial Relationship Manager Locaton: Austin- Domain Job Summary: Verifies accuracy and completeness of loan documentation. Coordinates all the steps of the loan closing process including document review and assists in post-closing document tracking and portfolio administration. Performs administrative duties and support tasks. Review and prepare commercial and residential draw requests of customers and process for approval of the commercial lender. Benefits:

Essential Functions:
- Assembles and verifies accuracy of loan documentation, ensuring that loan files contain documents with proper signatures, dates, and other relevant data.
- Ensures that all approved loan terms are included in the loan documents
- Tracks deposit account opening, arranges for property appraisals, orders flood certificates, prepares beneficial ownership forms, reviews insurance certificates, tracks bank review of appraisals and environmental site assessments, orders cost and plan reviews, etc., and coordinates collection of documents on the closing checklist.
- Verifies booking and coding on all loans for appropriateness to the transaction and prepares the post-closing checklist as needed
- Checks documents for proper legal descriptions, closing dates and signatures
- Performs duties requiring knowledge of departmental policies and procedures and financial institution products and services.
- Prioritizes the processing of loans according to customer closing deadlines and completeness of information submitted by the lender and customer.
- Corresponds with customers and attorneys during the closing process.
- Orders additional information from outside sources on an as needed basis
- Performs regular administrative duties as needed, including loan reporting exception collection, delivery and mailing of packages, notarizing documents, expense reports, loan officer call reports and pipeline updates, providing telephone support, screening visitors and arranging and scheduling meetings and appointments.
- Requests inspection report from third party inspector.
- Reviews the draw summary from borrower and accuracy of supporting documentation such as invoices and change orders.
- Orders necessary documentation from title company to process the draw.
- Funds draw and works with loan servicing to complete the request.
- Corresponds with borrower throughout the draw process.
- Processes correspondence, files and performs other specific duties for management staff.
- Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive Bank information.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Understands and agrees to abide by the policies and procedures established at Southside Bank.
- Responsible for complying with audit policies and procedures as they pertain to this position.
- Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related anti-money laundering laws, and in accordance with the Bank's Information Security Program.
- Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Required Education/Experience:
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or three year's related experience and/or training as a Loan Processor or Loan Closer within Texas markets.
Necessary Skills:
- Ability to read and understand loan documents.
- Poses a working understanding of applicable governmental banking regulations.
- Ability to correspond with and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Basic understanding of real estate terms and concepts.
- Ability to define problems; collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record-keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and learn and operate in various bank software systems.
- Handles multiple projects simultaneously.
Physical Activity/Dexterity: Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers. Works with fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials. Physical Environment Demands:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to visit other offices, conference rooms, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
- Constantly positions self to operate on a computer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with other people throughout each day. Must be able to exchange accurate information when conversing.
Working Conditions/Environment:
- Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
- Moderate noise (e.g., business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
Work Schedule/Hours:
- Monday through Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm.
- Available for overtime as needed.
