Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer, Mechanical to support the transfer of sheet metal components, including stamped, laser cut, plated, and bent parts to our suppliers. This role reports into our Global Supply Management team. As part of our Supplier Industrialization Engineering team, you will support new product introduction from concept through production at supplier facilities with a focus on cost-effectiveness and lead design for manufacturing (DFM) analysis to identify and mitigate potential manufacturing issues in collaboration with Program Managers, Cell/Module Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing, teams. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!

What you'll do:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., design engineering, manufacturing) to optimize designs for cost, assembly, and manufacturability.

  • Lead design for manufacturing (DFM) analysis to identify and mitigate potential manufacturing issues by leveraging industry-standard design rules.

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

  • Proactively identify and communicate potential risks to program schedules, including supplier delays, manufacturing challenges, and design changes. Develop mitigation plans to minimize schedule impact.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring seamless communication regarding any technical transfers or issues.

  • Monitor supplier performance and identify continuous improvement opportunities to support higher process yields and reduced cost.

What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years of experience in the design and manufacturing of sheet metal parts.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.

  • Demonstrated expertise in high-volume sheet metal forming/coating processes (stamping, bending, laser cutting, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of tolerancing and GD&T principles.

  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

  • Familiarity with sheet metal coatings and finishes (e.g., nickel plating).

  • Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate effectively.
