As Director of Property Operations, you will drive operational excellence across training, compliance, marketing, and resident services. This is a high-impact, strategic leadership role that requires deep expertise in affordable housing and a vision for innovation. The role is remote but requires travel at least once per month.

What You'll Do:


  • Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams - Oversee compliance, training, marketing, and resident services, ensuring operational consistency across the portfolio.
  • Drive Operational Excellence - Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency and streamline workflows.
  • Ensure Compliance & Program Integrity - Maintain adherence to LIHTC, HUD, Section 8, and other federal housing regulations while meeting investor expectations.
  • Enhance Property Performance - Partner with Regional Directors of Property Management to solve operational challenges and improve performance metrics.
  • Leverage Technology & Analytics - Manage RealPage and other property management software to track portfolio data and inform strategic decisions.
  • Elevate Resident Engagement - Oversee marketing strategies and resident services programs to foster strong, vibrant communities.
  • Lead New Property Launches - Oversee lease-ups and ensure a seamless transition to operational stability.
  • Collaborate Across Departments - Work closely with finance, asset management, and development teams to align property operations with broader business goals.



What You Bring:


  • 10+ years of experience in multifamily affordable housing property management.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing large affordable housing portfolios.
  • Strong expertise in LIHTC, HUD, and Section 8 regulations.
  • A track record of developing and implementing operational frameworks for large-scale property management.
  • Experience with RealPage and other property management systems.
  • Exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • A passion for affordable housing and community impact.
  • Ability to travel at least once per month to visit properties and teams.
