Outside Plant Engineer II

You'll partner with the Quality Assurance Team to confirm deliverables and convey installation report card metrics to vendors. You'll also take part in ODN Network architecture installation used in FTTx deployment and serve as a daily interface with various vendors and cross-functional work groups like Planning, Field Engineering, Network Planning, Project Management, Construction, and Operations to ensure timely job completion.

• Assisting with maintaining and repairing the outside plant infrastructure based on the build-out of the network and the needs of the business.

• Monitoring the infrastructure, troubleshooting and repairing issues that arise with the fiber and equipment, and escalating them to internal teams when necessary.

• Gathering requirements from senior engineers to implement solutions with internal and external teams.

• Following established criteria to implement additions, upgrades, repairs, and enhancements to the network to fulfill any requests.

You'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or one or more years of work experience.

• Valid driver's license.

• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Experience in engineering or installing/provisioning fiber optic OLTs (Calix) and transport multiplexer products and other industry equipment manufacturers.

• Knowledge of OSP and ISP network elements.

• Experience in Project Management.
